  Melville Winery - June 23, 2009
Melville Winery resembles a romantic Mediterranean Villa. Set amid lavender bushes and poplar, oak, and sycamore trees; the winery is the nucleus of the estate grown Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Syrah vines.

Greg Brewer, winemaker at Melville Winery and for his own label, Brewer-Clifton, believes in the manipulation of the grape, stating "wine is made in the vineyard." Brewer strongly believes that technical proficiency plays a role in making wine, but it is secondary in importance to the raw ingredients being used. Wines obtain their full potential based on the isolation and study of vineyard blocks.

Wines to be poured with selected canapé pairings:
  • 2008 Viognier Estate "Verna's Vineyard"
  • 2007 Estate Chardonnay, Santa Rita Hills
  • 2007 Estate Pinto Noir, Santa Rita Hills
  • 2007 Estate Syrah, "Verna's Vineyard"

Priced at $35.00 per wine flight and $15.00 per canapé plate.
